Boeing Names Robert Ortberg as Its Chief Executive

Boeing’s board announced the appointment of its next CEO, Robert K. Ortberg, on Wednesday. Ortberg, also known as Kelly, is an experienced aerospace executive who will take charge of addressing the company’s recent crisis. His tasks include implementing cultural changes, completing an important acquisition, strengthening the supply chain, and preparing for future plane development. Ortberg’s appointment will be effective from August 8. Boeing had been searching for a new CEO since March when Dave Calhoun announced his departure. The company has taken several measures to improve the quality of its planes following an incident earlier this year.
